Moving to another domain

Hello all. I am going to be develping some training for a non-profit. They have not decided on where to set it up, but I would like to move forward. How hard would it be to develop something on one machine and then move it to another? What is involved?

Just so you know my background, I am setting the first site up using cPanel Fantastico which does it automagically. I'm not a unix guru, but I'm not afraid of the command line. The final destination might be a site that uses cPanel or it might be other webhosting which I would assume I can create the necessary databases etc. but it does not use cPanel.

I know it would be much easier to do this if they had full control of the server, but they have shared hosting only. So, if anyone could inform me of how this might work, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!
Aaron

I have moved my TIKI from one host to another using nothing more than FTP. For the database, simply export from the existing host (save the SQL file locally).

Rick is right.
Some other comments:
- perhaps you will have to do a setup.sh to change the directories perms and ownership to your new web server group
- don't forget also to update the general system info in the panel admin->general
