Trackers post to Calendar

Can a tracker be used to post an event to a calendar And to a new wiki page? In other words, each item in the tracker both creates an event in the calendar and generates a wiki that is populated with tracker fields?

Hi brandanhadlock:

We have been discussing about it in the last days in he TikiFestBarcelona2, since some devs want to support it somehow for next stable branches.

In the mean time, you can do that using the Tracker Field "Action", as far as I know, which could enable you to do the job in two steps. !st add tracker item, then click on the button to through a url with all the required content to add some new calendar event, etc.

See the documentation for that type of field under Trackers documentation.

How would you do that? In setting up the tracker, I select a field with the type of action, then in the function area, I might list something like the following:

Create Calendar Item, post, tiki-calendar_edit_item.php,,

How would I format the last two parameters page:fieldname and highlight=test?

read the documentation about that tracker item field, ask about missing parts in the documentation, so that we cn all help to improve users to understand how to use this nice action field (as fas as I remember, it's tricky, but it works)

Personally, I don't remember, and I must admit that I'm lazy right now (many other things in my urgent to do list)... but a bit of trial and error from your side, and ensuring that you take profit whatever documentation is already written might help, I guess.
