    Hello,

    I just installed Tikiwiki and am blown away by the possibilities. Everything is working fine except the file galleries. I've tried both options, save to database or directory. Both options have their issues.

    Database: files are uploaded but are corrupted. PDFs display blank pages and .docs open but the text isn't right, Images don't work at all. Max allowable packet on the database is 1,048,576... could this be an issue?

    directory: I have created a directory specifically for the file gallery uploads. Permissions are set at 775 (same as the specific directory for the picture gallery which works fine...). When I try to upload, I always get an error message every time (it's in french : Impossible d'écrire dans ce fichier :/filesrcaa/c896496f36d074ddc0d4d08c67ae3ba5)

    Any help would be appreciated

    Make sure you have Tiki 5.1 which AFAIK, solves the file issue.

    When using directory, try 777 (and use a directory which is not web accessible

    And besides what marc suggest (which might very well solve your issue already), try also with files much smaller than 1 MB, to see if the max file size (in php and/or mysql) is related or not.

    Thanks for the help.

    It's still not working 100% but at least it's trying to upload a pdf. I uploaded a picture to the file gallery without a problem but can't upload other things...

    Marc, by 'not web accessible' you mean a directory that's outside the tikiwiki root directory? Such as the pictures file?
