FancyList

Hi All
I installed and customized TikiWiki two weeks ago, so please bear with a dummy like me wink
I'm using the FancyList plugin but I get odd results, e.g. see list point number 4 in the following screen shot: FancyList Error.png . At the beginning of all lines, there's HTML code that is NOT in the original text I pasted in. I tried the obvious, like setting the option "div=>0" and "div=>1", but that didn't help (the displayed list actually got worse/looked uglier). Any help is appreciated; thanks in advance!

hi,
try to switch HTML purifier off (it does nasty things sometimes, more than help) or maybe it is bug caused by fanci list + setting "Use wiki paragraph formating" enabled

Hi luci
thanks for your help! I tried disabling HTML Purifier (was on) but unfortunately this didn't help. "Use Wiki paragraph formating" is already disabled. I'll try enabling it, who knows?

Are you using the regular editor or the wysiwyg editor?

Hi Gary
yes, I'm using the wysiwyg editor. At least right now it's enabled (when I log in as admin) in the "Features->New" tab. I faintly remember toggling this feature on and off, but that was before I started adding the content in question.
Interesting aside: when I logged in as a regular user, there was an icon on the right side saying "Switch editor" (or something similar). I tried and got an error.

I have not yet understood the effects (if any at all) of switching users (other than the obvious effects like permissions etc.). I tried "fixing" the fancy list using "admin", but also using a regular user

I think there may be an incompatibility between the wysiwyg editor and the fancy list plugin, but I haven't done any checking about that and don't really know. You could try using the normal editor to make another page, and add the fancy list, and see how that works.

The admin switches users mostly to test permissions and so on, as far as I know. Site functionality shouldn't vary between admin and normal user except in terms of permissions or according to the respective user preferences.

Well, in the meantime I pulled down the site, deleted everything, reinstalled a fresh site (using cPanel) and tried from scratch. I still get the same error when I copy the same snippet of text.
So, from my point of view definitely a bug. But since I'm new, I don't know where; my best guess is that fancy list is the culprit.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
Mike
