    my second tiki is set to german as default language,
    but all menus and linktext are still english.
    how do i switch to german ?

    after importing german in edit languages it works.

    yes, db for translation is switched on.
    that was the first thing i checked.

    If you turn it off I dont think you need to import the languages. it will be faster with this setting off as it will use the lang/*/language.php files instead, rather than query the database a couple of million times.
