Anonymous User

Is there a way to remove a user from the Anonymous group? I would like to have a module show on the log in page w/ instructions on registering, but have it go away once a user registers. I figured the easiest way to do this would be to make the module assigned to the anon group only, but to my dismay, EVERYON is in the anon group, even after being registered, and I see no way to remove them from that group.... :-)

I think the only way you can do that is to make an 'intermediate' group between anonymous and registered and assign that module to the intermediate group only.

Pat.

Nope, that won't work either, to do that, you would have to include the Anonymous group to get the module to show prior to log in/reg, and if you do that, then it continues to show since all people are automatically a member of group Anon....

Maybe in a future update, registered members can be set to not be a member of Anon automatically, and leave it up to admin, it's easy enough to include anon in a group if that's the way the admin wants it.

By not making it an automatic inclusion, however, you could have a module for log in help, or site information for the casual visitor to help them decide if they want to register, but have these modules go away after someone registers... :-)

The only effective way I have found is to:
1. Go into Admin | Modules and assign, say the login module, to only the Anonymous group,
2. Go into Admin | Admin home -> General and clear the checkbox for "Display modules to all groups always:"
