Rich Text Editor please + Dutch Clubs -Getting sick of 'old garbage'!
Dear fellows,
first of all my excuses; I live in southern-Mexico for almost two years, so because of my cultural heritage, I end up shouting things like "garbage" more frequently.
I don't understand why most software (not only TikiWiki & WikiMedia) isn't updated to "Rich Text Editor".
Sometimes programs are just the same as 25 years ago, when people had to addapt to the computer, with a lot of additional work.
Yahoo and others, have the Rich Text Editor fascility.
Just copy-paste and all the links (+ hidden links), pictures, everything, is copied, just like the original.
(or one might program detailed rights, giving specific html rights for specific users/groups)
For Yahoo Groups, I just paste-copy all the valuable info & that's it.
Same for some free fora and Blogs. Just copy-paste my article from Yahoo groups to a free Blog with forum aspects.
All hidden links, pictures, everything is there!
Yahoo Groups has only a few possibilities, compared to the Dutch:
http://www.clubs.nl/ (now paid membership);
they sold their program to Yahoo and Yahoo made a cheap simple version of it.
Other programs like TikiWiki, have possibilities to combine everything (forum, Blogs, articles, Wiki's, groups, and so on)
But when I copy an article, it just becomes garbage!
Yes; it is able to determine what is a link; it seems to understand that http:// or www. means a link!
Well; it didn't show-up above... how about http://xyz.xyz or www.xyz.xyz ? Yes; there we are!
How 'intelligent' is that program, some php-fora even don't understand that, while html is ON.
But the hidden links (a href="http://....")Link-Tekst(/a)even TikiWiki *often* does not recognize.
Etcetera. Ofcourse I installed full options for html and so on.
Are there plans for something like "Rich Text Editor"?
Is it simple, or just that difficult?
And so on?
Thanks, Mark
P.S.: That Dutch Clubs might be a good idea too, shedding a light on.
Some aspects might be well worth to integrate in TikiWiki??!
Ofcourse for most the Dutch language is an obstacle; I'm not aware of an English version.
