upload files

posts: 12

Dear all,

I am pretty much new to the tikiwiki community but so far I am very fond of this useful and intriguing software.

I have installed tikiwiki version 1.9.8.3 and having problems with uploading files larger than 1MB.

I have allready checked all the faqs on this issue, and tried the solutions that were given there, but unfortunately to no avail.

This is basically the message I keep getting when trying to upload files, which are larger than 1MB.
Warning: mysql error: MySQL server has gone away in query:

insert into `tiki_files`(`galleryId`,`name`,`description`,`filename`,`filesize`,`filetype`,`data`,`user`,`created`,`downloads`,`path`,`hash`,`search_data`,`lastModif`,`lastModifUser`)
values(?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?)

in C:\Programme\xampp\htdocs\tikiwiki-1.9.8.3\lib\tikidblib.php on line 134

Doesn´t really help me much to be honest. This is what I have changed in the php.ini file so far

; Maximum size of POST data that PHP will accept.
post_max_size = 32M

Maximum allowed size for uploaded files.
upload_max_filesize = 32M

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; Resource Limits ;
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

max_execution_time = 60 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
max_input_time = 60 ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data
memory_limit = 32M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (16MB)

I have already tried changing the post max size and the upload max filesize to 55M, but I still got the same error message.

What exactly do I have to do to make this work?

@Xavier de Pedro: I have emailed you about this, unfortunately I don´t know where my inbox is on this page, so this is why I am posting it here in hope for help.

Thank you in advance

Hi Xavi,

thanks for your reply, btw. I also found out how to check my inbox here:-)

I have updated to 2.0, but unfortunately the problem persists, can you help me more please?

Regards,
Harry

(I understand that you already upgraded your database, for what you say, from 1.9 to 2.0...)

mmm, I would say: try settnig the file gallery to set files on disk instead of in database.

And alternatively, try doing that upload using the TikiLiveCD. It might be that you have a problem due to some missconfiguration of your xampp on windows. If you cannot reproduce your problem on the TikiLiveCD, then keepp searching on your xampp, not on Tiki.

My 2 cents.

Hi Xavi,

I changed the php.ini file and adjusted the settings accordingly, no when I try to upload a file that´s larger than 1MB I get the following message

"Fatal error: Call to a member function fetchRow() on a non-object in C:\Programme\xampp\htdocs\tikiwiki-1.9.8.3\lib\tikilib.php on line 1422"

Now Fatal error doesn´t sound too good, but what exactly does this mean, and how can I fix this?

Hope you or anyone here can help me.

Thank you in advance.
