How to start Shoutbox with larger text area?

posts: 26

Hey,

is there a way to display the shoutbox with a larger text area when it is rendered during normal page load?

I know the text area can be enlarged using the mouse pointer; however some of our user ask for a somewhat larger area to start with right from the beginning.

Checking the page source, I found the respective text area first has the dimensions rows=3 cols=16. To my understanding, those dimensions are not initially kept in a CSS but are put into the textarea-tag programmatically.

Any ideas?

Thx.

Simple CSS is all you need. try adding:

Copy to clipboard
textarea.tshoutbox { height:200px }

Using an express CSS definition does indeed increase the size of the textarea, but it does also wreck the resizeability of the textarea.

Any other ideas which don't make the size of the textarea fixed?

Thx,
