Access across workspaces

Hi there!

I was very pleased when I found Tiki. Today we use MediaWiki in my department at work. We use it for routines, system manuals and other internal info. But now, the rest of the company want to join our wiki, so now we need some good user group management and access control. Tiki to the rescue!

Here's my problem:
I can't seem to find out if I should use workspaces or not. And most important: Can I set permissions so that each user decide if the wiki page can be viewed/edited by another group?

Example:

Let's say we have 3 departments:

  • Sales
  • Customer Service
  • Product Development

What if the Product Development department want to share a price list with both Sales and Customer Service, but they want to share some routines only with the Customer Service department. These departments are equal and need to be able to choose to share with whoever they want.

If Tiki can do this, how can I structure my site? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! :-)

Thanks! :-)

I have read those pages, but they don't really answer the "how"-part of my question, or if I should use workspaces or not?

The Permissions page has a good expanation of groups and permissions, but only if the groups are hierarchical. Our groups (departments) are equal and need to be able to share with each other.

Any suggestions on how to achieve this?
