Re: How can I make the Admin part in the Application Menu disappear?
The structure of the Admin menu and the Application Menu module has changed dramatically since 1.8.x. If I recall, there's a specific process if you want to migrate customized Admin menus in the Release Notes.
The visibility of specific menu items is determined by permissions (which also were modified greatly since 1.8.x. Please see the docs for details.
