Group Home Pages

Hi,

The group home page feature in 1.8 is not working for me. After setting the 'user group home pages' feature in Admin->Generel, I set a group home page to be 'umich', a wiki page that I have created. I've also tried http://hostname/tiki-index.php?page=umich and umich.

No matter what I've tried, tiki will always user to the Home Page rather than the page designated in the group screen. I'm sure that I'm doing something wrong and could really use some help with this.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks, Damian. I thought for sure that I was doing something wrong. I'm really looking forward to this feature for my site. I looked in the SF bugs and didn't see it. I hesitate to file it though if it's already being worked on.

Hmm. Didn't succeed? I still don't see it in the trackers. Is it fixed in the cvs 1.8.2 version?

I was fooling around with this feature tonight and it was driving me up the wall. I discovered how to get it working by accident while looking through the database.

My site only has 10 users, so this would be a pain in the ass if you had lots, but what you need to do is after setting your group pages for everyone, you need to set the default group for each user. When you are in the edit user screen, the default group field will most likely be populated with a group, but you MUST hit the save button to get this to regiset in the DB. Once you have done this, this feature will work.

I suppose what needs to be done is when a user is created and their group assigned, the default group needs to be set automatically.

I am not much good at php and the like so I am not sure how to do this, but have been poking around the files with not joy as yet.

I was just entering this newsgroup because i did found out myself: indeed set the default group for each user and then it works OK.

There are a bit much Re:'s in the topic...

Hi:
I posted a question at the users-list in sf.net about this issue: how to set a default group for tenths of users, etc..
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=9491804

It would be nice to be fixed for future releases (1.8.x, 1.9.x...)

P.D: By the way, it was hard to find all the posts about this subject. Here is the link to the full list of posts and replies:
