We did discuss this a while ago in the tikiwiki IRC channel probably end of last year.
Im not sure but I think the http://username:password@ style of authentication was discussed
but as 99% of newsreaders dont have authentication I think it was a nice to have but not needed feature.
The man to talk to would be ohertel. Maybe you can Tiki Message him, he looks after our RSS side of things.
