Editing

I have limited time — don't we all — but as I go through the documentation looking for information, I notice errors in grammar, spelling, etc. For some reason, unknown to me, and certainly not attributable to efforts on my part, I am really tuned in to these kinds of things. I have an urge to fix them, but I can't, since I don't have the proper privileges. Is there a place for someone who would just fix spelling, grammar, etc., plus other small errors when she runs across them? If so, please contact me.

The most bothersome lately was in the PluginSQL doc where "orderby" should have been "order by".

Hi Susan,

Everyone can edit the site here at tikiwiki.org, and I'll make sure you get editing permission on doc.tikiwiki.org too.

Your help would be very much welcome!

Damian

I was editing for grammar on http://doc.tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Upgrade section 4. It saved my changes but the whole paragraph on the page is gone. When I go back into edit, the changes and the paragraph are actually there. When I exit the edit, paragraph is gone again. Could someone please look at it and tell me what is going on? I got it... the edit field shows both versions, "3.x" and "2.x and 1.9.x" the saved page only shows the section relevant to the Tiki version..

Hi meta4r and welcome to the Tikiwiki Community! smile

thanks for fixing those pages (typos or Spanglish errors maybe sometimes from me? wink )

You don't see the paragraph (some of them) because that page is using the PluginVersions, in order to show only the paragraphs related to a specific version of the software. If you click in the button for another version, then you'll see the paragraphs for the other version.

So keep up improving the documentation! (thanks for joining the effort)

Cheers

P.s: I was kind of surprised to see that post of you in a thread 5 years old... (impressed). Hi Damian, if you were watching that thread also). I hope you are well.

P.S.2.: In tiki3 this syntax:

Copy to clipboard
--Could someone please look at it and tell me what is going on?--

produces this text (striked font):
Could someone please look at it and tell me what is going on?

FYI... smile
