I can't login to fix this

sad

my tiki/tiki-index.php page now shows this error message and I don't know how to fix it since I can't login:

Census

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: convert_sortmode() in /var/www/html/tiki/lib/polls/polllib.php on line 148

(census is a poll on my site that is displayed on all pages on the right side) I didn't change anything even remotely related to the poll code so am very confused as to how this error occurred. I just went to the site and here this was.

Any help is very useful. My whole site is unavialble now!

You will probably need to remove the poll via the database directly in tiki_modules table.

Thanks Damian,

I deleted the module from the database tiki-modules. Now I get this error:

Warning: MYSQL error: DB Error: syntax error in query:
select `catObjectId` from `tiki_categorized_objects` where `type`=? and `objId`=?
in /var/www/html/tiki/lib/tikilib.php on line 101

Just yesterday I upgraded from 1.7.5 to 1.8.3 and I thought all was well because I logged in and used it and made changes (turned on all the features because I wanted to see the new ones). Now today on my next attempt to login post-upgrade. All these db errors. Any idea on how to fix this and what I may have done wrong?

Thanks so much for your prompt help. Tikiwiki has the best support. So far I've been able to go from newb to having two sites running in just a few months time. I really thought the upgrade was good though and am surprised to find these random errors today.confused

Update: I did not fix it, but did try going into the tiki preferences table and turning off the categories feature. Am I way off?

Have you run the db fixes in the db folder?

sdl,

I followed the upgrade instructions to the letter (ran tiki_1.7to1.8.sql, comments_fix_1.7to1.8.sql, structure_fix_1.7to1.8.sql and then ran the first one again). In fact I was so nervous to wreck my live installation I installed the 1.7.5 tikiwiki on my local machine and then populated it with my live site data to make a working duplicate.

Then I went through the upgrade process on my local site and that worked well. The only difference was that I did not have to ftp things and when I was upgrading the database I was able to browse to tiki-install.php and run the db scripts from that interface. On my live site I ran the scripts from phpMyAdmin. Otherwise I did all steps the same.

And it did work on the live site (or seemed to) for one day. I went into the admin though and turned on all the new features and things to see what they did. Next login, nothing works, no home page, all of these db errors so I am not sure why it worked then stopped working.

I have been reading everything on tikiwiki.org and sourceforge forums looking for a solution or things to try since yesterday morning. I'm leaving for the weekend and was hoping to fix the site before I go but it looks like the only way is to remove 1.8.3 and reinstall 1.7.5 with my old database backup. If anyone has ideas, I will try them first!

Thanks,
Kelly

if it all happened after selecting all the features my suggestion to you is to go into phpmyadmin to the tiki_preferences of your sites database and change all the features you don't need to 'n'. then try it again if it still doesn't work cry
