Gallery problem, image won't show

Hi,

After uploaded succesfully the jpeg files into a gallery, it won't show anything either thumbnails or pictures itself. I can upload a different thumbnail picture, incorporated via wiki page without problem.
I can see the said thumbnail on my homepage. I have all neccessary permission. I've tried both GD and Imagick format, both upload in DB and directory. For saving in directory, I saw the uploaded file,
in the wrong place: I set it to .../tiki/var/images, but it saves it under ../tiki/var/.
I am using linux, apache2, php 4.3, and even PEAR-DB, but with no difference. I have tried it under admin and user. Am using Eta Carinae, v1.7.1.1
In gallery, clicking gallery name, gives me a highlighted word thumbnail, with picture name underneath. Selecting thumbnail, mozilla spawn a small window with nothing, except moving left or right arrow.

Thank you for reading, hope to have some result soon.

Hi everybody,
i have very similar problems in uploading images: i can upload just a couple of images and then, when i try to upload another image, i have a 404 Page Not Found error (i think maybe there could be something wrong tiki-upload_image.php...)

I have also another problem with thumbnails images, in the image galleries: they are very slow, and often some of them can't be shown until you rebiuld thumbnails. Are thumbs built everytime you reload the page? I thought they were created and stored when you upload or when you ask to rebuild thumbs. But in this case i don't understand why sometimes they work and sometimes don't...
Can I do something to solve this problem i have 1.8, GD > 2.0 installed and images are stored to disk?

Hope you can help me... thanks!! biggrin

This solution works.. But is a major hack. The $feature_galleries variable is not being passed correctly in a global context - this could be from having php configured without global vars enabled (recommended)

Hello, I was just wondering if a true fix for this problem has ever been found. One other than the hack that was suggested . The reason that I ask is because I am having the exact same issue with a 1.7.8 Tiki install. Images load up to database or folder fine, but they do not display at all on the pages in the gallery. Just shows as a blank page.

I have confirmed that by commenting out the code that you suggested that it fixes the problem. All images now show up. There must be some other solution though. Is it just that most everyone else using TikiWiki are installing it on servers that have the Global Variables setting turned on?
